Default Error 2753

When trying to re-install PT 11.3.1 on my Windows 7 computer (clean install), I get this error message:

Error 2753. The File "digisptservice64.exe' is not marked for installation.

I followed the step in this article:

http://www.ehow.com/how_5047270_fix-internal-error.html

but that did not help.

Anyone?

Is Win7 updated to the latest? It works fine here but I do remember needing some Windows update before I could complete the install(been running 12.7 for several months but my backup system drive has Win7 and 11.3.1).

When you say clean install, do you mean a clean Windows install or a clean PT install?

If it is not a clean Windows install, my guess would be that something did not un-install properly when PT was removed. It's hard to say if it's a file or registry problem at that point, but you can start by searching for "digisptservice64.exe" and see if the file still exists on your system. If not, it could be a registry issue where the installer thinks the file is already installed and errors out.
