Pace/iLOK Authorization Shuts PT

Me too.
I got authorization error tonight, PT refused to open, said I didn't have license, I ran ilok license manager, tried again, and after like 5 or 10 minutes of frozen progress bar, PT opened and it looks fine.
This is with cloud license.

Yeah true, we have never used cloud whatsoever so maybe an issue with the cloud authorization which is scary as hell

But this is an iLok/Pace issue not Avids fault this time

So bad, this is something which simply can never be repeated by iLok. I hope they learn a lesson from this. I avoided a terribly embarrassing outcome by 5 minutes, who knows how many people actually lost $ over this

I repeat. I managed to transfer from cloud to dongle and it is working fine now

This thread goes to show that anything in the Cloud is not reliable. Get a physical iLok along with the $30/year ZDT and you'll thank me.

I'll continue to use Ilok cloud. Yesterday's ten minute hickup, is the only problem in 6 months of my using it.

If you're going to tell people to avoid a product because it's bad for us, you should be able to substantiate your claim. "... it's the internet..."

You're whistling past the graveyard if you think the 'cloud' is the way to go especially with something as critical as one's iLok if you want to keep working. I'd rather not have a session grind to a halt because my internet dropped out. I tend to have my daw computer on the net as little as possible.

If your internet connection is unreliable, shure. Mine is rock solid. You keep on living in the past. I'll continue to use ilok cloud, using PT along side of other audio, graphics and video applications, simultaneously. And do colaborations, pay my bills, share files and data and opionions, buy stuff and watch porn on my computer. This is 2020, stuff is working pretty good these days.
