PC Configuration
Hi,
Sorry if it's a bit basic, but I am hoping for any guidance on the optimum PC configuration needed to run PT8 please? For a few years I have been running Pro Tools 8 with an Mbox on a Mac G4 Dual 1.25 (the one that sounds like an plane taking off), but some of my plugins, particularily Waves are really stuggling. So I am planning to put together a PC, and would be great to know how much ram, and processor, etc power I should go for (as I don't have an enormous budget)? Or if there any any other concepts for performance I should be considering? At this stage, I am planning to buy 2 internal hard drives - one for Windows7 and all Applications (including Pro Tools and Reason), and the other for all Protools Song files. Thanks in advance for any advice! Lee. |

Re: PC Configuration
Plenty of RAM (at least 6GB)
7200rpm drives (more cache is better) For the price, quad cores are best. If you can afford an i7, get it. It will last you much longer than the Core2Quads that are available today. |
