If you really want them to acknowledge you, why not contact them directly?

Isn't there a charge to have Pace respond to an email?

Sure, but some things are better handled in private. We do have an open forum for all Digi users, but I can't blame the companies for not wanting to jump in here. I'm sure you'll still report back to us on how things go.

We'll really they have to justify what they're doing and just ignoring it isn't going to generate any good will between them and their customers. sure its a difficult issue to deal with but its their issue and they should be open to discussion on it.

I belive that's only for technical support. It couldn't hurt to just try emailing [email protected] or [email protected].

I agree that they should be willing to discuss the issue, but I don't think they should feel obligated to discuss it in an open forum either.

yeah, thats a good point. me starting this thread was never about my personal issues with my ilok key but the bigger picture of how the real world is impacted by this form of copy protection.
If I'dkept it to myself we wouldn't have had this very interesting discussion and all those good suggestions may well not have been made. hopefully the powers that be have read them and taken note at the very least.

Looks like iLok might have some competition - which is one thing they've needed.

Maybe plugin companies should allow for a choice between a couple of hardware copyright systems, to help ensure these companies perform well.

The biggest downside to the Hasp is that it cannot support (at least presently) multiple vendors, and it cannot be updated via the internet- You pretty much need a key per app or plugin- so, unless you are planning on having a LOT of USB ports available, I would consider it to be bit clunky.
