Default Hardware digidesign issues

Hi guys and first of all , sorry for my bad english , im actualy from France .

So here is my question .

I do have to install a Pro tools 9 HD on a HP XW8400 with Windows 7 on it (i have the ilok and the license ) and i do have a adrenaline hardware and a pro control but i dont have any special sound card on the computer .

I thought that on the PT 9HD i was able to use the soft without a digidesign hardware but as soon as im trying to start the soft i still have the same message " enable to locate your digidesign hardware ....bla bla bla ...

So what do i have to do to start this damn PT ?

Hope to have an answer because all these sh... is gonna make me hella crazy .

You need SOMETHING to act as the audio engine(audio in and out paths). Assuming you are running Windows, then you need an ASIO-compliant device. That includes almost any interface from any manufacturer, as long as they offer a compatible driver. As an alternative, you can try the universal driver called ASIO4ALL. Its freeware and has worked for many, including the on-board audio IO if your computer has that feature on the motherboard.

You know with all these posts about this can't start or hear pro tools stuff - avid ought ship PT11 with some info about the need four this - I wonder how much it would cost them to write a comparable program/driver - if they even want to get involved with that mess
