Default Digital Performer & Protools 5.0

Anyone! I'm trying to run Digital Performer in the Background Locked up to a Protools Mix 24/Plus system. I have a USD, a Midi timepiece A/V USB, a Blue & white G3 400Mhz and all the current software for OMS and FreeMidi, but it seems that Digital Performer keeps grabbing hold of my A to D's (Apogee AD-8000's) and Pro Tools gives me the Error message "Hardware in use by another Application. Does anyone know the correct settings to make it all work! Thanks!

I use DP and you may have to disable the audio hardware in DP to be able to lock them up. I have had this problem and this seemed to solve it. But if you have audio on DP you won't be able to here it. I am currently trying to figure out how to Export audio out of DP to use in PT. Any input would be great if you know. Hope this helps.

Peter,

Brassail is correct in saying that you will need to put performer in midi only mode. Any audio in performer will not be heard. You can export as an OMF file from performer and using OMF tool (it's included on your pro tools cd rom) you can convert that omf file into a pro tools session complete with audio. There's a read me with the OMF tools on the pro tools CD rom - it can provide you with the details.

OMF has always worked really well for me. Then disable the audio system in DP and sync away. Any files you want processed with the MAS plug-ins will have to be captured to disc in DP first. Hope this helps!
