Default Pop screens - nylon or metal?

My ol' nylon screen got ripped, and I need a new one. Anyone tried those metal ones? I see that sE Electronics and Rode has metal screens.

Thoughts?

Yes, the metal ones are quite nice. They don't dull the voice as much as fabric. They work by redirecting the airflow since the metal expansion is cut at an angle.

Ok, cool. I'll try the cheapest.

Thanks.

Stedman 101 is very good and reasonably priced. No border to obscure a script and you can read a script through it. Also lifetime warranty.

Nice thing about metal is you can wash it, plus it won't rip.

Cheers,

I bought a couple of the larger Stedman with the rubbery border since the little one doesn't give much range of motion. If someone is especially "spitty" you can still stretch a booty or nylon around it without it ripping.

Funny thing. I just came from Men's Wearhouse where I got measured for a tux. I was wearing sandals and needed to try on shoes. The clerk handed me a thin nylon sock to put on before trying on the shoes. I asked nicely and she gave me a dozen. These things are perfect for when a little extra filtering is needed.

Ah, yes of course. I'll just put a viking in front of the mic. That'll take care of the pops.
