cool, thanks guys! I thought you could print it, I just wasn't sure. Otherwise I'd stop at the book store and pick up a 3rd party manual tonight. Calling it up while using PT is a good idea. I'm sure once I get into recording I'll be doing that quite often. I wanted to just have a hard copy to read during my free time so I can be a little more familiar with the basics before I start using this stuff.

I work at a printing company, so I had my coworker, the person in charge in my little are, (and a fellow 001 owner) print me up copies of all the manuals, since some of mine had a lot of spills, ripped pages etc..

I got the spiral bound and color cover, all for..

i always have my left hand on the keyboard, if you are like me then use tip #12469

alt-tab will switch between windows.

For me, that is just as fast as looking over to another screen, then looking back...

Default I have a really dumb question about the user manual.

I haven't attempted to open it from the disc yet so I'm not sure if I can do this or not. My protools PC is not hooked up to a printer. Can I just print the file from any other PC? I am assuming it is just a standard PDF file... correct?

Sorry for the dumb question. I am not at home right now so I can't just try it out.

You should be able to open it. It's a PDF file and most PCs have Acorbat reader. But as for printing it.....lots of pages kid. It may be cheaper to buy it.(cost of paper and ink)

Hi Siberian,
Yes, you can print it. I don't have an actual manual, so when I've reinstalled PT a few times, I usually print out the 'Addendum', or just a few pages of it.
But for anything else, I just 'call up' the manual while in session...works for me.
