pt se (mobile pre 2nd gen) quick start interface problem

i can change between the different sections in the quickstart dialog of pt se (new session, demo songs... etc), but if klick e.g. on empty session and try to launch with 'choose...' button on the right nothing happens. same with the demo section, there i can prelisten to the demos but not choose em. also in open sessions and tuts section, no link works, nor does the quick button.
i tried to reinstall pt se and also uninstalled flashplayer and reinstalled it, but everything stays the same.

my config:
os x 10.6.4
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB Ram
Mac Book 4.1

It sounds like something may be wrong with your installation.

Have you tried manually opening one of the demo songs?
You'll find them here:
Applications > Digidesign >Pro Tools > Demo Songs > Blues Demo 1 > Blues Demo 1.ptf

Let us know if this works.

i tried to open the demo files and pt did start perfect. only when i closed the project, pt did again show the quickstart window and everything was broken again.

that led me to a little googeling and i found a solution (not really enduser-friendly, but works perfect for me now):

• go to /Library/Application Support/Macromedia/FlashPlayerTrust
• there create an empty text file with the name ptse.cfg (the name does not matter, the extension does)
• in the text file put the path to your pro tools se quickstart directory, for me i added the line "/Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools/" to the empty text file.
• save and start pt

adding the Pro Tools directory to flashplayer's trusted locations not only fixes the problem with the quickstart interface but also enables me to access the help/tuts videos without problems.

the only thing i do not know by now is why this was like that on my machine and others do not have a problem.
