I think click tracks are the timing equivalent of stacking 5 L1's on the
master buss. Grooving to a click is an oxymoron, you groove to other musicians.

Give the PT Beat Detective groove template extraction a try. You should at least learn about it. The groove template is a flexible click track derived from the performance itself that you can then us to conform other tracks to align them. The natural fluctuations of the music is maintained.
