Surround on Pro Control?

Anyone doing surround sound and stereo sound of the Pro Control. I am running into a few problems. I can not source to my exetrnal decks through the aux out because they are connected to my center and lfe channels. I really dont want to have to disconnect the cables every time. I think im stuck with it. Not happy with the surround matrix, or lack thier of.

ICON's X-MON is only slightly better in my opinion

What do you mean only slightly better? i thought you can run 2x 7.1 and 2 pair of stereo mini. there has to be a seperate output connectors.

no options for external stem recorder monitor
no way to send 2ch inputs to a Pro Logic decoder
no down mix in the X-Mon you need Waves plug-in

these are thing a large format desk can do w/o needing extra ( insert expletive here )

I understand your disappointment with Digi's surround implementation, but I must say that I use a ProControl for surround monitoring on avery regular basis-

The things I wanted to say though that there are few consoles (not even considering the price point) which have the sort of features you mention. Since those features are more related to post production and working "outside the box" I can forgive Digi for the lack of inclusion in the spec of the product (XMON, C24, ProControl etc). If you need those features the Martin Sound box or Otari PicMix would likely be a good fit.

Perhaps an option of an expanded XMON would be cool.

Digi want so replace all of the DFCs, Harrisons and System 5s on dub stages with D-Controls.

They should make a product that competes feature for feature and then some and not need to get extra crap to do the same job.
