Default View Plugin Controls Without GUI

Is there a way to see the plugin parameters/settings absent the plugin GUI? For instance in logic theres a controls view and an editor view. Controls just shows generic sliders and numeric values for each editable parameter. Editor shows the graphic GUI. Is there something similar to the controls view in pro tools. Some UAD plugins don’t show numeric values in the GUI and I want to know the exact setting.

You need a control surface for it in case plugin itself does not show values.

I have an iPad. I didn’t think about that - I think it would show it in avid control. Is there really no way to see it from within protools on the computer itself though?

If you automate it, the lane would show you the value

The way I read his original post I don't think he's talking about automating a control but more being able to input exact values. He's probably dealing with plugins that don't show values when you rotate a knob or don't have any numerical markings on them.

Yes but if the plugin is bad, automation is the workaround

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. Musicman691 is correct as far as what I was asking. I’ll try the automation lane as was suggested. Thanks!
