Crashes when changing Velocity on track

Hello,
I've been able to duplicate this at least twice... Nasty program crash happened at exact same spot both times. I was changing the "velocity" settings on a midi track (using a trumpet sample). The one that caused the crash was the start of a long tied note. (The shorter notes seemed to work fine.)
The message that came up was "Pro Tools Application Stopped Working" before it shut the program down. (The first time it happened, a load distortion noise blasted through my speakers for about 10 seconds, and message popped up asking me to explain what happened and "send to Avid".)

Any ideas? I would like to continue editing the song, but can't get past this action...
