Default Project Mix and LE

Currently running M-powered 7.4 with M-Audio Project Mix I/O. However, in order to meet upcoming studio projects, I have to move to LE. This will require the addition of an Mbox or 003 component. I have no problem with the purchase but don't want to give up using my Project Mix. So my question is this: If I get a Digidesign interface in order to start up LE, can I utilize the Project Mix once it's running?
