Default 002 Fader Problems

I search for this one but couldn't find it. Forgive me if I'm being repetative.

I just purchased a Digi 002 and in the short time I've had it I've noticed that the touch sensative faders were behaving strangely. The corresponding fader will move when the mouse is used to move it within the Pro Tools LE environment, BUT...the faders will only respond to manual movement if I intentionally ground myself by making contact with anything metal (the 002 face; racks, aluminum computer case, etc.

Anyone ever heard or experienced such a thing?

Thanks in advance.
Scott
