Default New macbook pro 2018 13' roll back os to Sierra?

There is info all over the web on how to do this with High Sierra. I would love to restore my current system (sierra).

Every thing was working well for me on sierra for both PT and Adobe CS 4.

I've tried every step I could find to do this including making a bootable installation disk to no avail.

The 2018 MBP will only re install mojave.

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

I'm sure there are others in the same boat.

what do you mean *new* MacBook Pro. What are you changing?

How about explaining in simple English what you are doing and why? You are trying to clone or reinstall stuff that was running on another Mac before or on this exact Mac?

Look up your exact model Mac on easymac or some other resource and check what the minimum supported OS version is.

If an earlier OS version is supposed to run then provide a link to exactly what instructions you are following.

What exactly happens? What exact error etc do you get?

Sierra was released 2016 and don't have all the drivers needed for your 2018 laptop, simple as that, cannot be done.

What i have tried to do several times is to restore the complete Sierra system from a Time Machine backup. The error says "this backup was created with a different model mac"

the backup was created with a 2016 MBP 13 inch.

Going a different direction, I attempted to install Sierra on the 2018 MBP 13 inch from a usb drive install. If this was successful, I would then restore from the Time Machine backup I had created from the working 2016 MBP that I had created on Sierra.

This didn't seem possible since it would revert to internet recovery every time and re-install mojave.

The only other idea I had was to reach way back in my experience level and create a Carbon Copy Cloner bootable copy if the working Sierra system and then copy it onto the new 2018 MBP via target disk status.

I sincerely appreciate any brainstorming help on this option.

The main reason for staying on sierra is that I also use Adobe CS4 - I am poor and can't afford Adobe CC subscription. (photoshop seems to be working ok in 10.14, but Indesign appears to be a no go)

I suspect you cannot do this. As I said go check the minimum supported OS spec for your model Mac. I suspect JFreak is right. But you should go check. Forced OS upgrades are a big part of planning and new Mac purchase.

If it’s not documented as supported it is not going to run, nothing anybody can do here to help you. You need to either return/sell the Mac and buy an older one or upgrade macOS and Pro Tools. 2019.6 on Mojave is a really nice release.
