Pt won't record or save ?????!

Hoping for some help on a stuck pt system.

first sign of problem message saying pt cannot auto save,uncheck in prefs?

now if I put pt into record then stop i either get assertion message

"CNeolOBlock.cpp" , line 164.

or cannot stop pt,gets stuck in record,only way out is to force quit.

I have added an new external drive and been backing up generally (i use
dantz retrospect)

Have tried running disk utilities on all drives (all fine) and digitest (fine).

Also I have checked ignore ownership on drives with no success.


Any advice much appreciated.
