Default Extend a selection to a Marker

I'm trying to learn how to extend a selection to a Marker in Pro Tools M-Powered 7.3. Attempting to follow the instructions on page 403 of Pro Tools Reference Guide under the heading "To extend a selection to a Marker or Memory Location":

1 I make a selection with the Selector tool in the usual way.
2 I shift-click a Marker in the Markers ruler. Nothing happens. I get the same non-result if instead I shift-click a Memory Location in the Memory Locations Window.

I would be interested to hear any comments or suggestions.

Create your markers

open Marker WINDOW (ctrl+5)

Click on the marker you want to start at (ex: verse1) which will locate you to it.

SHIFT + Click on the marker you want to end on (ex:Chorus1)

I always do it within that window.

Whats cool too, is that if you zoom down to sample level ( I usually use the kick drum track) and create your markers with precise accuracy, when you highlight a verse or a chorus or a bridge it make a perfect loop.
This is cool if your trying to lock into the feel of a continuos tom fill or something like that.

Its also cool because it sounds seemless to whoever you're mixing for when you have to loop something.

Yep, ...and you use 'Selection' in the Time Properties for recalling the loop?

By the way, using the Memory Locations window to edit to specific Markers is great, use it all the time now.

Yeah sometimes I make Selection Markers, but if the memory locations are sample accurate then its no problem to just make a selection in the window on the fly, instead of having a million markers in the window.

I used to use the track show/hide function a lot, but now I just make groups, deactivate them with a left click and show them with a right click on the group name. Still good for mixed up stuff tho.

Bumping this thread because I'm seeing the exact same issue on a Mac (yes, I posted in the Mac forum, too). The solutions suggested in this thread don't work, unfortunately. SimonO, did you ever find a fix for this problem?

wonky you've tried APPLE+5 to open the marker window and shift+clicked on your markers?

Yep. Nothing happens. As exhaustively detailed over on the Mac side. It's a new bug for me in 7.3, never had an issue in 7.1.1. Actually, I notice that none of the APPLE+[number] functions work. To get to those items, I have to select them from the Window menu. But even with the Memory Locations window, nothing happens when shift+clicking.

You can also do this by holding shift and punching up the desired maker with the NUM pad. I.E., if your selection begins at marker 2 and ends at marker 4, just shift and punch .+4+. and your selection will span from marker 2 to marker 4. Naturally, this technique is dependent on what mode you have your NUM pad set to in PT.
