Default Anyone else hoping for HD exchange extension?

Is it just me, or is anyone else hoping for an extension on the time period we can upgrade to PT HD?

I hope there is more time.

I need compatibility with LE and I hope free, one day.

I want a clearer picture of the OSX situation as I will be moving from the 9600 to a new machine BUT which new machine?

I haven't seen the Midi-I/O yet and I will probably have to move from the Optcode XTC64.

My SC cards will have to go and I'm not happy with some things on the soft SC. I am still confused as to how many midi channels I have with only one instance of SSC. Output track count is cool but can it go over I group of 16 midi channels.

Plugs. I have the set of plugs that came with the Mix-plus but I understand they will not upgrade with the new HD/Computer combo as it won't have the floppy. So here we go I-lock .... so now I need a Hub. BUT which hub??

I don't want Digi jumping in here with their answers COS it won't help. People are having these problems no matter what you say.

All that without even starting on the Interfaces and clock and converter issues!

This is every bit as hard as PT3 to 4.

HD ... not yet , I just can not.
Too much work in the pipe to risk it.

I'll tell you right now. It just so happens that this upgrade period is the WORST POSSIBLE TIMING for my business. Not anybody's fault or angry just bad timing and I can't really do anything about that. But Digi can! And if ya don't I won't hold it against you!!!

We are about to release an independent record and thus must put today's funds towards CD duplication/promotion/working our asses off. However, if the upgrade deadline got extended we would most definitly jump on it after our project is out and underway. DON'T DO THIS TO US DIGI!!! I will make it worth it for you. If you guys extend this, I will have a fantastic business proposal for our manager. Help me out here!!!

Uhhh, I wouldn't mind Digi chiming in, but they probably won't until July 1st!!! They want to keep baiting this 6/30 cutoff thing.

yeah, I just can't upgrade right now.. too many pending projects and I can't take the time to upgrade all plugs etc.. or deal with any new "undiscovered bugs " such as the amp farm.

It seems like a short time ago when I paid for the upgrade to PT 5.1.1 now again I'm dipping in large pockets to stay current. This really kills the medium to low budget film mixer and sound designer... ie.... ME!

And there's still no word on the final date for Logic compatibility - that's got to be holding a lot of people back...

Hey,

I feel your pain but as a person that sucked it up and bought the upgrade I feel it would be unfair for Digi to now change the deadline.

We all have our issues and they can't and shouldn't try to please everyone.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I disagree!

The digital I/O was never in the original upgrade options!

The Midi I/O has not been seen in this country yet!

The OS issue, is an issue! If I am to need a new computer when OSX support comes the last thing I want is to waste money on an intermediate computer.

The plug upgrades will need an I-lock? Old plugs need Floppies to un-authorise then authorise. Some of the new floppy drives have been problematic.

You sucked it up and upgraded - GOOD. I have done this MORE than once before and each time have lost projects/clients.

The reason I suggest that DIGI shouldn't jump in here is because this thread is about the deadline and not the specific problems. There are enough other threads dealing with the various problems.

Just to clarify,

Show me a working HD system with all parts working and I can think about the up-grade offer.
Most parts are still vapourware.
