<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">If you have a properly tuned subwoofer, or if your monitoring system goes down far enough, you'll be able to hear whether you need that kind of low-end control or not, and you'll be able to do it at the channels that need it, rather than blindly applying it in all cases to the master fader. Sometimes that low-frequency extension is desired, sometimes not, but the only way you can make that decision is if you can hear it on your monitors.
