Freeze without Freezing Inserts - Feature request?
So I know that you can freeze up to a certain insert on a track. Does anyone know of any way to be able to freeze an Aux without any plug-ins being frozen on the track?
So far, the only way I know how to do it is to put a trim plug-in as the first insert and then freeze up to that plug-in. I guess you could also make all plug-ins inactive and freeze and make them active again. But I'm hoping there is an easier way.

Re: Freeze without Freezing Inserts - Feature request?
Not that I know of. For me, it would be extremely rare I'd need to freeze/commit an aux without inserts, so I'd just duplicate the aux with everything BUT inserts checked.

Re: Freeze without Freezing Inserts - Feature request?
couldn't you just commit a bounce of the tracks sending to the aux input and keep the aux active? find a track routed to say "Drum Aux" , right click and commit and all the other active tracks should be committed as a stereo bounce. you then have an audio track and a live aux.

Re: Freeze without Freezing Inserts - Feature request?
Those are other workaround options. But in my scenario, I am working with massive sessions and I'm running out of voices (HDX1). So I'm sending large groups of tracks through Aux's. I am constantly temporarily freezing the Aux and making all tracks sent to the Aux inactive. But I'm often needing to go back to those groups and readjust the mix. I would love to be able to freeze and unfreeze yet always have access to the inserts either way.
I guess I'm asking for a feature request to have the ability to click freeze on an Aux and somehow indicate I don't want to freeze any inserts.

I was doing something similar recently re:freezing Auxes. Good tip using 'trim' as a 'dummy insert' though..
