external ssd drive: unable to create record files for one or more tracks
macbook pro retina 2.6Ghz corei5 haswell 8Gb ram
lacie rugged USB3 120Gb SSD drive (external) PT 10.3.7 disk permissions on Lacie Rugged USB3 120Gb SSD are set to: everyone = read&write 1 guitar track 1 master track unfortunately I keep receiving the same error message when hitting te record button: "unable to create record files for one or more tracks. Check your disk allocation and drive permission". I just want to record a single guitar track, why is PT giving me a hard time? |

Re: external ssd drive: unable to create record files for one or more tracks
Are you sure you have formatted that drive as HFS+ (Mac OS Extended, Journaled, case-insensitive)

Re: external ssd drive: unable to create record files for one or more tracks
thank you for your reply.
Yes my drive is Mac OS Extended (Journaled) formatted. the thing is: it works with my iMac and the Lacie SSD drive (connected with thunderbolt) It does not work with my macbook pro and Lacie connected with USB3 UPDATE: I moved the project from my external Lacie SSD to my macbook pro SSD drive: problem remains. |

Re: external ssd drive: unable to create record files for one or more tracks
Did you check your disk allocation?
Pro Tools Menu Setups. Mac OS? Drive-Enable R in Pro Tools-workspace window?

Re: external ssd drive: unable to create record files for one or more tracks
In case other people come across this I've encountered it a couple of times when providing phone support. The solution has been to save and reopen the session, usually it occurs if the session has been moved while it's open.

Re: external ssd drive: unable to create record files for one or more tracks
I'm having this same error. I've used this drive for a long time with Pro Tools, but recently got a new MacBook Pro. Any ideas?
OS: 10.15.4 PT: 2020.5.0 MacBook Pro 16"/2019, 32GB Ram USB3 Hard Drive with Anker USB Adapter (which i think might be my problem)
