Default Fried 002 $$?

I own a 002 that works great but I have the opportunity to buy another one for 50$ that is apparently toast.

The story is, the inexperienced owner inadvertently plugged in a very hot signal from the speaker jack of his guitar amp into the input of his 002. He says its a brick. My question is, should I pick it up for parts? Is there anything I can salvage as long as I have an 002 that works fine?

The question to you would be.. If your 002 is working fine, what would you need to "salvage" from the $50 brick? Then again if you got an extra $50 why not.. you could use it to shore up the corner of your house
