Software Volume Faders Get Stuck

Hi All.

Why do my volume faders sometimes get stuck?
002R, XP, memory is fine, everything else seems fine and working, but now and then the volume faders will suddenly refuse to budge.

Oh this really drives me nuts, and guaranteed it always happens at the worst time.
I'm having a very difficult time tracking down the source of this problem.
Anyone have any ideas?

have you written automaion on the tracks the are 'stuck'? or maybe copied a region from a track with automation? try settng the track to auto off then try and move the fader to see if its automation.

Thanks for the reply.

No, it's not Automation, in fact it's a different kind of stuck.
It doesn't let me move the fader or pan then bounce back like an automated track does,
but rather simply won't let me move fader/pan at all.

I have discovered it's caused by Hybrid
Removing it and restarting PT fixes it.
Reinsert Hybrid and the problem is back.

If I just close the troubled session, and create a new one the problem exists in the new session also,
unless I have removed Hybrid.

Weird, something is wrong with my MPT.

Maybe uninstall and reinstall MPT. Worth a try. If it doesn't work, un and reinstall PT using the Nuke thing. Just an idea. Glad you isolated it to Expand, but it is the first time we have heard of this AFAIK.

Any chance you guys installed cs1 before Digi took it off the website?

Digi removed the CS1 update. The problems you are experiencing sound like problems others were having after they installed the CS1 udpate. I suggest uninstalling Pro Tools and reinstalling it without the update. I'm sure a follow-up will be out soon. Hope that helps!
