I'm getting beeps and clicks at the end of every file I record. The bump in the wave form is visible. I've re-installed software, then run Digi Test which passed. Digi tech support said that it might be a hardware failure. I hope not. Everything seems to be working fine except for these beeps clicks and pops at the end of every take which I have to trim back. Any suggestions? Thanks...

Not just you ..... Not a hardware failure ....
DIGI, I just updated a few days ago .... I am working on 70+ cinematics for a video game (under a tight deadline of course) and finding that 20% - 50% of my Mixdowns (Not Bounce to Disk) to my record track have this phenomenon. It seems to be a buffer hiccup when the recording stops more than a pop or click. The work around that I have found is to add a bit of Post-roll to the end of the record. This was not happening in 6.9.1 cs2. Specs: PT 6.9.1.cs3 HD2 Accel G4 Dual 1.25 2GB ram OSX.3.9 192, Sync IO Audio on 10k SCSI drive Mixing to Stereo Track. Please look in to this. Thanks,

FWIW, I've had this happening since 6.9cs1 at least. Does not seem to happen with ADC off, but that creates a host of other problems (partially documented in another current thread on DUC regarding regions printing EARLIER than recorded).

Thanks! Glad to see I'm not alone and that I don't have to do what digi said to do which was to take my whole system apart and check each card out one by one (and if that didn't eliminate the problem, then digi said to pull out my ram and check each pair of ram sticks!) I'm really not up to going through all that work for nothing. BTW - It's not happening when I bounce to disk either. Anyone else experiencing this phenomenon?

Me to. Everytime I record to a track there is a spike right at the end of the file. Been happening since 6.9.

I hate to go back to the old standard, but have you tried trashing prefs and database files as well as making sure all energy savers/screen savers and wireless/airport/bluetooth devices are disabled?
If you create a new session and record a single audio track without any plug-ins, do you still get the beeps/clicks? Does the same thing happen if you create a new admin account, sign in under it and try the test again? |

If you are recording with ADC enabled in the Playback Engine, try turning it off when recording. Alot of us here have experienced an issue with this while recording with ADC. not sure if this is your problem tho. Theres a few threads youll find if you search ADC + Pops + clicks.
