This is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. When you trim up +6db and auto-write to all, automation points that were set to -infinity go up to -139db. Isn't -infinity + anything still -infinity? I know infinity doesn't equal -145db (maybe it does in "24-bit audio world"). This also happens when trimming groups.
Now, I know that is basically inaudible (although maybe not with a very large trim), but it is a bit annoying when trimming to see those points come up from -inifinity. Shouldn't they just stay at -infinity (regardless of what a real console would do)? If I'm wrong, help me understand it. Thanks. |
