Hi,

We were able to reproduce this in 6.4cs9. The good news is we were not able to reproduce it in 6.7cs2. Please download the CS release and see if you still have the same problems. Thanks for taking the time to post all the detailed information. Let us know if you continue to have the same problem.

You can get 6.7cs2 HERE .

Thanks again,

Thanks for following up on this. I won't be able to test cs2 until next Monday but will post my results then.

I have tried reproducing this with PT6.7cs1 and PT6.7cs2. The behavior in cs2 is the same as cs1, which was actually a little different than the behavior in the original release of PT6.7:

now in cs2 (as well as cs1), I am getting a slightly different end-of-region behavior when recording with ADC on. There is still an audio glitch at the end of the region equal in length to the total of dly+cmp, however, the glitch contains silence rather than the audio from 3 seconds prior or from a previous take. That's better, although can still create a click if there audio is recorded right up to the point at which STOP was pressed because there will be a sudden discontinuity from the end of the audio waveform to silence and since it is before the end of the region (and if the delay comp is long enough), the automatic region fade out doesn't solve that problem as it would normally.

Here's something weird.... when you zoom in on the waveform at the end of a region, you can see the glitch as a short segment of silence... strangely, when zoomed out the waveform shows the glitch as non-silence. in particular, the waveform of the glitch when zoomed out LOOKS like it contains audio from earlier on in the take or from a previous take, even though it does not PLAY this audio. And if you zoom in again, once you cross some threshhold of zoom magnification, the glitch again appears as silence!

Try doing this using plugins that give you long latency (2000+ samples) such as Waves Linear Phase EQ and this will be easier to see.

Pardon the wild speculation, but it looks to me like you tried to address the problem by adding a segment of silence (equal in length to the dly+cmp) to the record buffer after the user presses STOP to overwrite any previous audio. While it is better than before, what you should be doing is continuing to record from the input source after STOP is pressed for a period of time equal to the dly+cmp. Or, if that is too difficult, to shorten the region by a period of time equal to dly+cmp, so that the auto region fade out functions properly.
