Default JOEMEEK ThreeQ or RNC??

Hi all,
just wondering what people here would get out of those 2 compressors. Ive heard a lot of things about the RNC here, just wondering how it compares to the Joemeek, Sam Ash have them both for the same price.

Thanks,
Ruben

My 2 cents worth: the RNC is likely more clean/transparent and non-colored(in mild use) while the Meek will add more tone "character". Whether you prefer the added "character" is up to you. I have the RNC and find it quite invisible as long as I don't smash the signal. I haven't used the Meek but they generally build stuff that imparts a vintage feel to the signal. YMMV

I had a three q and recently sold it- my findings were it is clean, not colorful, as far as the pre goes. I found the compressor unusable. Even slightly on, it would pop all the time, so it really is only useful if you want to use it as an effect, not to control levels. The eq on the three-q was okay. I didn't really hear much difference form the m-box pre's, and since the compressor was not good for controlling levels, I didn't really need it. You may like it, see if you can try one out first. I have never used an RNC but people really seem to like it a lot.
