A Mac Question
I have my whole rack and system on a UPS, all except my monitors.
If the power goes, how can I shut down Protools while saving the session, and shutdown the mac with just the keyboard???? Is it easier to take my compressor out of the UPS and whack in a monitor or simple with keystrokes? Thanks in advance.. AJ

Re: A Mac Question
The easy solution is to just get a cheap UPS for your monitor since they don't cost much for a 5 min. model.
But, you could do this: If you're playing back at the time, hit spacebar to stop. Apple-S to save the session Apple-Q to quit Pro Tools Control-(Eject key) brings up the shutdown dialog Hit Enter to select the default option (Shut down). But, you should at least wait 30 sec. to see if the power is going to come back on its own. |

Re: A Mac Question
we have written classic applets for restart, shutdown, etc., and assigned them to function keys. You could do this and if you loose power, hit Apple+S to save, then your assigned shutdown key. I usspect you could probably write an applet that would save AND shutdown if you wanted to.
Hope this is helpful. |
