Default PT 11 64 bit x plugins with oversampling

Hi fellas
I just purchased some t racks plugins and they have oversampling by default the sound is amazing but higher cpu usage on my PT10.The question is with 64 bit format of PT 11 and 16 gig of ram those plugins will be lighter cpu wise?
Thanx in advance.

Up to the developer I would say. If they wrote it as an AAX32/64 bit plugin, it could be a matter of them optimizing it more in 11 maybe? Just guessing.

PT11 also has Dynamic Plugin Processing which should help 11 do more than 10 can.

Keep in mind that oversampling slows down Offline Bounces.

The amount of RAM is not going to make a plug-in less of a CPU hog. Apples and oranges, I think.

It might be good to contact IK Multimedia about this. Some of their analog modeling stuff is quite CPU hungry. You can always disable oversampling, I don't think I've ever run into problematic aliasing when oversampling is turned off in the T-Racks plug-ins I use.

Indee,16 gig of ram did not turn heavy plugins lithter on cpu,but 64 bit daw delivers more power of cpu,so i wolud like to know if some of our fellas had experienced a picture like that.Thanx for reply.

64 bit does not offer more cpu power. CPU ghz speed or multi-cpu's give you cpu power. 64 bit offers access to larger amounts of ram for virtual instruments.

Well,if i understand only virtual instruments will benefit. Of larger amount of ram.Is that correct.?A pluging with oversampling abled. don`t.Thats it?

Any aspect of Pro Tools that uses RAM will benefit from the larger address space afforded by a 64 bit version of Pro Tools. Video, virtual instruments, large track counts (especially with Disk Cache enabled in Pro Tools HD) are the main benefits.

Also, the operating system will run better when it has a bit of overhead. Pro Tools being 64 bit or 32 bit doesn't affect the operating system's performance, but having more RAM in your system is something that your OS will appreciate - especially if you're running other applications at the same time as Pro Tools, like people do when using ReWire.

Plug-in oversampling will use some RAM, but not enough to really make a dent. The bottleneck for oversampling is the CPU - a faster CPU will be the determining factor for oversampling.
