Default Adaptec 2906 scsi card for mac

Anybody using this card?Just wondering if it's even worth trying.Low on funds.

Works flawlessly for me.
With an APS Yamaha 8x4x24x.
Never had one coaster, never had one problem. If everything could be like that!
For now, the CD burner is the only device plugged into it though....

Hi,
Had intermittent problems w/ Finder crashes and random freezes for about 3 months after buying my yikes G4. I had the 2906 installed by the dealer. I posted these problems at the xlr8yourmac forum where someone suggested that I move the card to the slot closest to the processor, just after the video card. A possible PCI buss problem was then confirmed by the site admn. and he made the same suggestion. I moved the card over and NO problems since.

FYI, my 2906 is on the furthest slot from the video card :-/
