You can buy one for $20

dealmac.com/articles/40916.html

>> SmartDisk again offers its factory-refurbished VST USB Floppy Drive for $19.99, $16 off, via coupon code "oops". With free shipping,

I tried to use ethernet to authorize, but couldn't get it to work.

If you get the floppy drive, make sure it's the "Color Edition".

It's an attractive price, but for us Canucks, it's $US 20 plus $US 40 for shipping !!!

Default plug auth thru ethernet?

Hi every one,

I am trying to move my Mix Plus rig from my old 9500 clone to a powerbook. Can I authorize the plug ins by mounting the floppies through Apple Talk / ethernet? I don't want to have to buy a USB floppy drive. I will try and report back.

Apparently the colour edition is the only one that is officially approved by Digi. I was enquiring a while ago, and one of the Digi techs said they had some reports of problems with the titanium ones.

Maybe it'll work ok for you.
