Default Word Clock Problems......!!!

In a Setup consisting of a 1622 a MTP AV w/ super clock and a dbx 386 pre with S/PDIF outs im finding im having problems syncing. normally i run the super clock out to my 1622 in since i have an adat hooked up to my MTP AV but i cant chain the pre because of the 256x out of the super clock....then when i need to run the pre I send S/PDIF to the 1622 and stop slaving it to the superclock.... but 3 out of 5 times when im done with the pre and try to slave the 1622 to the MTP AV the 1622 freaks out and i need to restart my system. Also it cant be good switching the clocking sources around all the time. Theres got to be a more efficent way of doing this.

If the MTP AV can output Word Clock and SuperClock simultaneously, then you can resolve the 386 to Word Clock. When you are ready to transfer from the 386 into Pro Tools, choose "S/PDIF" from the Ch1/2 Input menu (Setups>Hardware)...but leave the Sync Mode set to "Internal."

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Yes, that would be your best option for your system.
