Default Real Tape Suite... Interesting

Digidesign announces Real Tape Suite

Interesting. I'm guessing it will probably be priced along the lines of McDSP Analog Channel. Going to be hard to beat Massey Tape Head for $69, though.

Yeah. IMHO, it should be included in the standard DigiRack plugins.

What like you have not been testing it?

First I've heard of it, and it's not even available yet...

I have heard it, seen a "tester" of it and it is GOOD! Way to go DIGI... not saying which tester, but I have been on a session at a studio with the beta and it sounded great.
Still like analog channel better, but it is pretty sweet and grainy.

It's nice addition, a great idea.

Digi are slowly but surely beefing up their native plug in quantity and quality with this, Structure and the other AIR VIs.

I think a revamp of the other Digirack plugins (D-Verb especially) like the EQIII and DynamicsIII would be a good move also.

People want, more and more, a package that has a bit of everything from the get go. PT has a great bundle as it is but Logic still has a few ace fun tools that come bundled with the program and digi should think about including things like the Voce Chorus as standard (or allow the chorus, flanger etc; to run in real time).

A few eclectic toys like a stereo imager and exciter would be nice too, but Tape emulation is a great start.

You can never have enough (good) plug ins!

Peace

Sonny

You do realise that this tape emulation bundle will cost more than mBox mini, don't you? I would be really excited if they added this to free digirack bundle, but as someone said, it's hard to beat Massey Tape-Head that costs 69 dollars. Not many LE people can afford a 295 dollar plugin or a 495 dollar bundle if there's a significantly cheaper alternative.

Might be great plugin, but price tag is on the highish side.

Am I blind or something? I don't see the price tag anywhere... How do you know that it will cost that much?

Someone on Gearslutz saw it on Harmony Central somewhere... Digidesign & NAMM on Gearslutz

for what it is worth, I couldn't get the link to work on Harmony Central .
