Default \"Out of 82 byte tokens\" error is back...

I haven't seen this error in years. In fact, searching Digi support brings up messages that this is virtually non-existant in PT v5.3 and higher.

In this case its appearing during Bounce To Disk immediately after BTD finishes converting the bounced file (session is 24/48k and destination is either 44.1 wav or mp3).

I'm running PTHD 7.3.1cs2 on WinXP SP2 with a HUI attached.

Adding the token sizes txt file suggested in the support pages doesn't fix it (from my memory it didn't really help years ago when this issue was persistent).

Digi?...

Did anything change on the system between when it was working and when the problem started occurring, even something that may seem insignificant?

The only change I could attribute this to is that the session I'm having this trouble with is at 48kHz (I did not track it, I track my projects at 44.1). However, it is the only session from this project that has caused this. I can say that most of the CPU/DSP resources are used up.

Digi, can you share any insight to what the root cause of this error is related to? I would guess MIDI seeing that the support docs point to HUI/MotorMix controllers. I don't have any instruments or MIDI tracks running in these sessions at all, FWIW.

(GeneOuse, thanks for chiming in. My drive has several GB's of free space so I don't think that's a factor here...)

Thanks!

I'm also getting this on my 002 system under XP. I've never gotten this error before (I started at 6.4), but after upgrading to 7.3, this message has become a regular feature. Specifying additional tokens has had no effect. Can anyone explain how these tokens are used so that we have a fair chance at assesing a solution?

We have been having this problem with 7.2 as well. All "cs" updates have been added to no avail. We have not seen this error since 6.4. As with all others the recommended "Fix" with the "Token" text file seems to have no effect (didn't with 6.4 as I remember).

Mostly it seems to arise when using MIDI and trying to track it or play it back to outside real hardware like KORG Rack or SP-200.

Like the rest of the replies, I have spoken with Digi Support and still do not have a good understanding of the "Tokens" issue or what they represent in software processing.

Just my 2 cents.

HD3
IBM 6850U IntelliServer, 2.6Gh Dual Zeon
Mackie Universal Control with 2 Extension Units
MidiMan 8X8 MIDI Interface (for instruments only)
MidiMan 4X4 MIDI Interface (for control surfaces only)
HUI would never work using only 1 interface, results were "Not Responding" lockups
and "Ran Out Of 84 Byte Tokens" & "Ran Out Of 128 Byte Tokens" quite often.
Mackie 1642 (output routing)
Lots and lots of outboard gear, mostly vintage, to much to list.

For what it's worth (I know this is the Windows forum, and I am on a Mac) I've had it repeatedly just a few days ago while using Waves IR-L RTAS on a HD3 Accel system running under OS X 10.4.8, PT HD 7.3.1.

All the best,

M.

Hello, I had the same problem on HD3, PT7.3.1cs2 with 2 Midisports as the Midi I/Os.
After installing the MOTU midi express 128 everthing went fine. Maybe this is only a problem with the drivers of different Midi- Interfaces.

I too had alot of issues using the M-Audio Midisport. I've been curious if Digi would ensure compatibility and address these issues now that they essentially own M-Audio. I'm using my mobo's built in game/MIDI port for my HUI now whaich has proved to work very well until recently when these errors started popping up on a couple sessions.

Digi, any feedback on these posts??
