Default Mojo or Canopus - firewire video playback

I seem to remember that there were some issues with PT 8 or 9 working well with a Canopus ADVC100 for FW video playback in HD.
Is that still the case?
Is the Avid Mojo the more reliable beast?

In terms of sync, yes. In terms of stability, I don' t know. There are certain operations that are guaranteed to send your system into a crash when using a Mojo SDI.

Vanillin composite mojo here. Rock solid. I have clients with Avid, so makes sense. I convert long form quicktimes from FCP in media composer to avid media. Frame accurate and solid - unlike Canopus/QuickTime

Cheers

Mojo can play out anything quicktime plays. Canopus not. Mojo with reference feed is frame accurate. Canopus not. Mojo can play MXF files directly from the editor. Canopus not. The price for a used Mojo on ebay is lower then a Canopus or the same.
The commutative to a Mojo these Black magic intensity pro (PCI-e card). learn about it, then ask your self what is more suitable for your workflow.
