Default Region Groups causes problems

Tried to open some old sessions (all related) that were in their own folder but they wouldn't due to an Access Violation in ProTools.dll.

So I created a new folder on a different drive, created some new sessions and imported all the files from the sessions that wouldn't open. All seemed good, all the tracks and related files were there , so I saved them at their new location.

When I tried to open them , they wouldn't, with the following message:

Could not complete the Open Session.....command because Access violation occurred, unable to read location: 0x000000A0 at address: 0x04934B05 in module : ProTools.dll

All other sessions on all other drives are working fine.

Any idea what's tweaked these sessions so they won't open

Try opening these sessions while holding the Shift key. That will disable all plugins(they will all still be in place). If the session opens and runs like this, that would indicate a bad plugin. then you can enable a few at a time to figure out which need updating.

Got 2 of the 7 sessions opened....plugins were ok on those 2, the other 5 still won't open...even while holding the shift key.

Thanks for the input albee...I'll keep messing around and see what happens.

Found the Problem......Region Groups !!!!!

All of these sessions had region groups (for the clik trak ala K. Gioia)
After importing these sessions many times and trying different things, I tried ungrouping the region groups..and all is good.

Don't know if this was a glitch on my system or if it can be re-created.
