Structure Free in PT8.05

I'm using Structure free in pt 8.05 and have a question. I have an old yamaha keyboard I use with an m-audio uno midisport usb interface/cable. In structure I can load in external drum samples in the WAV file format but I experience a significant delay when playing them on my midi keyboard. Is there a specific way to go about loading in external drum samples or can this not be done with WAV files in structure free? Any help? I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to sampling.
