How do I gain access the the extra tracks? I dont even have the 48 that is suposed to come with PT8?
You only get 32 Instrument tracks. The track count increase is for Audio Tracks. The CPTK ups the Instrument track count to 64... That's how I read it in the PT Reference Guide, pages 34 thru 38, anyway...

If you really need more than 32, then use MIDI tracks and Aux inputs instead. You're gonna be choking that MBP depending on what instruments you're trying to use, so plan on committing a few of those to audio tracks too...

I just started a new session and was able to open 64 new audio tracks at a time. If I delete these and try and open 64 instrument tracks is says "Too many tracks entered for the current Pro Tools Configuration. THe maximum value will be substituted" and it only gives me 32.
Is there a different way to configure Pro Tools to allow me to open 64 instrument tracks?

Thank you

Flommer,
I read your reply after I send my reply. Now I understand thank you. The CPTK is only for PTLE correct? I am working on M-powered, maybe its time to switch.

Well, you read the first part but maybe not the second part..

Instrument tracks are convenient, but they are not the only way to use VI plugins..

Use MIDI tracks and Aux Input tracks.. The result is the same and it appears that you should be able to use more than 32...
