Default Mixed and mastered with PT11, wrong in Final Cut Pro...

Guys,

I know : the first reflex I might get here is : post on Apple forums for Final Cut Pro. I did, but no answer - and my guess is I might get better ''engineering'' views here, and many of you work with Macs, and possibly also Final Cut pro.

I produced a track with PT11 (recorded, mixed, compressed for mastering).

Let's say the output is ''good'' for reference.

Now I am importing this in Final Cut pro as soundtrack to a video clip. I apply nothing else in the process. The track I import is WAV, 24bit, 44.1Khz.

Once in the Final Cut Project, I get a pumping-like (gate open/closing) compressing effect, even with some phase shifting. Very ''bad'' (in reference to the ''good'' above...

Searching the forums, I tried rendering the project, I tried remixing in PT11 and convert to 48K..., I re-imported the file and made sure no ''automatic audio fixing'' was in function. But the issue remains.

I wondered if there could be some problem with ''my'' compressing under PT, that might explain this ??... But yet: why wouldn't Final Cut just give me what I enter ???...

Any idea anyone ?

Thanks,
Rob

try reexporting the .wav as an .aiff, FCP has a problem with .wav files
