Default Bad or null Corba POA

Hi,
I keep getting this error when windows 7 32 boots up.
Latest 2.6 etc.
MC_Client detected a network problem and will now exit. Please check your network settings and connections.
I have full network connectivity.
Please advise.

I have the same problem. Every time I start up the computer I get the same error message. When I open the EuControl software I can see that my workstation seems to be recognized, but not the controller.

(Win7, 32bit)

A lot of us are getting these Ethernet problems, I get them on mac every time I unplug and plug back a wire or restart the modem.

They haven't mentioned if they will fix this.

I was getting this a while ago. Deleting all three Euphonix program shortcuts (EuConStart.exe , MC_Client.exe, EuControl.exe) in the Windows startup menu (users/YOU/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Startup), then using a batch process to load them one at a time with a couple of seconds gap between each in the order above solved the problem. I used a good free program called Batchrun to create the batch file.

However, the problem has now returned. Merging Technologies force me to have both a 64 bit and a 32 bit driver on the system in order to use EuCon in Pyramix 64 bit, and I needed to use Pyramix for a recent project. Things worked fine - but having both drivers broke EuCon on other programs (not surprisingly). So I've now uninstalled all versions of EuCon, restarted as a clean slate and reinstalled 64 bit only. But now the CORBA error is back... DESPITE deleting all references from the startup menu, and running the batch process.

The error is generated immediately on startup, before my batch process runs. This means that there is something in my system that invokes MC Client, and I can't find it. I've searched the entire C Drive for references to the process, and found none except the main program itself and the desktop shortcut. I have the horrible feeling I'm going to end up delving into the registry to fix this, but don't know where to go.

I think I'll need to contact Avid directly to sort this out, does anyone have a direct number or email? Need to get this sorted ASAP. Thanks.

(running EuControl v2.6.2 Win 7 Pro 64 bit)

EDIT - found it - and not in the registry, thank gawd. As well as the folder location above, there is also the startup folder in the main windows programs. You need to delete ALL references in there too, and create a batch file in the location at the top of this post. I had one rogue invoke of EuControl in my programs / startup folder which was causing the problem (even though the other location was clear), this has to run last.

Hope the above helps those of you with this problem, it drove me insane last year trying to solve it, and it was about to do the same again!

Hi,
will give it a whirl, thanks.
But the point is that Avid really needs to sort this out.
