Default How to edit song length

My band has recorded a song on PTLE with the Digi 002, the song over a period of time got longer than we anticipated. While doing some editing we faded out at a reasonable time, cut 2 1/2 minutes off the song. The problem is now when we bounce, the 2 1/2 minutes we cut is still there... not the music but dead space. The song was 7 1/2 cut to 5. If we put another song behind it there is 2 1/2 min. of nothing before the next track. How can we cut this dead space?
Any help would be much appreciated...
Thanks

Make sure you have a selection before you select bounce otherwise it will bounce the whole file. Select just the area of the region you want bounced.

Shorten the length of your selection before you bounce..it sounds to me that your selection still goes to the end of the edited region

drag the I beam selector over the audio region so it gets highlighted ( black) and that is what will be bounced.

Bazzle - don't feel bad, we're 2 hours ahead of you out east so I have a big advantage

The little blue arrows at the top of the edit screen.Make sure one is at the beginning of the song and the other is where you want the song to end. Then bounce, don't touch anything on the screen.Like the Transport etc.Go directly to the file menu and do your bounce
