Boys Boys, quit the argument about the damn SCSI/ATA thing. Your both right.

If your doing the Digi 001 (pro-sumor level) then your ATAs are probably fine. But try the PT Mix plus set up running 64+ tracks with an ATA. Also, its nice to be able to move your SCSI drives to other systems unlike an ATA.

Digi 001--ATA
ProTools MIX+--UW SCSI

Anybody wanna back me on that?

I'll back you on that.

As I said before ATA will prob be just fine for most people running the 001/Le. But your point about moving the drives is a good one. I'm sure thats the reason many people went with the 001 so they could take the sessions to a TDM set up if needed.

Dr Strangelove hits it right on. The specs tell the story. I'm sure the 15k Cheetahs are even faster.

Now... I really don't give a sh*t what drives people buy, but guys like nuke who claim to know more than IBM and Seagate, and lay out opinion as if it were fact don't do any of us any good.
