Default The software being activated does not allow activation to this location?

So I just downloaded ilok and pro tools 12.8. I open my see my license and try to run it through the cloud. I open the session on I lok but dont add license to the cloud to activate it through pro tools application. I've tried both ways. I open the pro application it shows my cloud there to activate. As I click on it it says the thread title. I'm so stuck can someone please help

12.8 predates cloud licenses even existing. You need 2018.1 or later. https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...iLok-Cloud-FAQ

Hi, welcome to the community.

Yes as said you need 2018.1 or later for cloud licensing. See compatibility info here and choose a version that is compatible with your system. All PT versions since 12.6 are available for download in Avid Download Center. If you must use 12.8 you also must buy physical license key.

Given how well the cloud version of iLok works(not very well), I highly recommend using a physical iLok whenever possible
