Bass guitar strings recommendation for Hard Rock music
Hi guys,
I'm a geetar player in need of BASS guitar strings for my bass, but am clueless there. Any suggestions? I'm plugging the bass into the the 001 and will be using SansAmp PSA-1 once it arrives in the mail , and have always had trouble getting the bass to stand out well if the guitars drop out of the mix. Trying to improve on that. Any string ideas? Thanks |

Re: Bass guitar strings recommendation for Hard Rock music
Hey Rand,
I record alot of heavy stuff also using my PSA-1 for guitar and bass. On my Fender P-Bass I like to use either GHS Boomer M3045 Mediums or Dean Markley Blue Steel Mediums. Both are good for that thick, heavy bass sound. Marc |

Re: Bass guitar strings recommendation for Hard Rock music
I second that. I've played bass exclusively for over 20 years mostly in Rock or Hard Rock bands. My first choice is always GHS Boomers Meduim guage and my second choice is Blue Steel. Both are very good strings.

Re: Bass guitar strings recommendation for Hard Rock music
I have GHS Boomers on my bass. They're good.
I played a P-Bass a month ago with RotoSounds on it and loved it. However, fingering is more important with those strings. cheers, Mark |

I like Ernie Ball mediums on my P-bass and Washburn 5 string through the bass pod for recording

I personally like the sound of D'addario Strings over most others.

The boomers are a little bright for my taste. i like the plain old fender strings, which i think are actually made by d'adario.
