why is it so hard to find??? geezzzz...

I'm trying to buy a macbook pro and I want to know what the system requirements are! specially the processor speed and minimum RAM requirements.
I have searched the whole avid/digidesign data base, the knowledge base, the faqs, and nothing!

does anyone know where I can get this info please?

The only requirement for 8.0.3 is that it's an Intel processor (not the older PowerPC in the G5s and below)
And minimum 1GB of RAM, 2GB recommended.

Protools 8.0.3 also require Snow Leopard or OSX 10.6.x. Now the above requirements (Intel Processor and 1 GB RAM) are minimums. A general rule of thumb for Native DAWs line Protools LE is that the more processor cores (Core2Duo, i5, i7, including hyperthreading), the faster processors (not just the GHz rating), the more memory (up to a point depending on your plugin usage), and the faster hard drives (and interfaces), are better. I have never heard anyone complain that their computer is too powerful. Know your budget however and get the best computer you can afford. Plan ahead to replace that computer every few years (3-5 is a good range) as new technology marches on.

is that right? if it's 2 months and worth the wait then this might be the way to go. I'll look into it, thanks!

Without a doubt wait if you can. The i5 and i7 procs are gonna be worth it. An i5 will show up as 4 procs and the i7 as 8 procs. I just wish apple would release them already. They've been in windows laptops for a little while.

Anything equivalent or better than a Core2Duo and 2GB of RAM will do fine.

If in only 2 months I can have a new better option and will last through more updates and upgrades, I like that.

I'll wait it out and manage with the 2 systems I'm currently running.

Thanks all for your help!

@mindnoise, thanks for the info!
