Default going fully hd need help PLEASE

i am building a protools based system. bought the 192 i/o, hd core, accel is on its way as i write as well as the pro control. now seeking "serious" input on buying a mac. i know of many of the downsides to OS-X and some of the dissapointments from g5 dual owners.

for perspective and to ghelp you answer my query better i'll explain my exact usage of the system.

No graphics use other than viewing protools edits and mixes. The computer will ONLY be used for protools sessions. No browsing internet or email or anything else. I won't be using any soft synths. Other than the Mach 5 sampler because it'll read all sample formats. I have a PC for Gigastudio which i'll bring over to the Mac and Mach 5 will read it.

what configuration would be best?
How many seperate drives should i buy to easily play with 48 stereo tracks? better to have several than one large one?
Is 2 gigs ram sufficient?
How about frontside bus?

I can't ask these questions to a seller as i get sales pitches.

In short, with a modicum of price concern yet not a limiting factor, how/what would you set up from scratch if you could do it again or for the first time without counting $$.

I truly appreciate any input.

BTW, when i install the accel card, which i bought seperately from the core card, will i be able to install the HD2 pack plugins that are on the installation cd that came with the core card? you know the ones that HD2 buyers get.
