Default Mac OS X won\'t boot while C|24 is connected.

When I boot my mac G5 I have to disconect the C|24 from the ethernet card. Else my mac won't boot. I'm really new to using mac. Does anyone here had the same problem?
Thanx!

once booted into OSX, (with the ctrl 24 unplugged) in System Preferences <--- startup disk, is Network Startup highlighted ????

If it is, highlight the system folder you wish to start your machine from.

I'm grasping at straws here, I've never experienced, or heard of this before...

once you've booted, and you plug the Ctrl 24 back in, does it recognize ?? and become onling with Pro-Tools ??

Yes, when I have booted I can plug the c|24 into the ethernet controller and everything works fine. I read the thread Rail showed me but it seems that the problem is a bit different. On booting a world-icon starts blinking(I'm new to mac so I think it has something to do with connecting to a network or something). When the c|24 is plugged in the booting stops there. So maybe it's indeed something with the network configuration like Kingfish said. I'll try this and I let you know.
Thanx for your help.

Have you enabled Verbose Boot Mode as indicated in that thread.. that should indicate where it stops booting.

An ethernet card? If you're saying that you have a PCI ethernet card installed, don't use that. The C24 should be connected to the gigabit port on the back of the computer. If you need the computer on a network in addition to the C24, use a hub. I've never seen an additional ethernet card work very well in my experience.

The computer is connected to the gigabit port. I was thinking in pc-terms.
No, I didn't check with the verbose boot mode. I couldn't remember how to do this.(and we don't have internet connection in the studio). I'll try it today. Thanks!

I'd posted instructions on how to enable Verbose Mode in the thread I linked to.
