Question 003 and a patchbay

My question is if I have my line ins and outs 1-8 connected to my patchbay, am I able to have the 1-4 preamps connected to the patch bay as well, or does having line inputs 1-4 connected (even without signal passing through them) bypass the preamps?

onnecting the 1-4 line ins does not bypass the mic ins

you choose which in is being used from the front switches...

I have both the mic ins and line ins wired to my patchbay, you select which input source will be active via the Mic/DI(Line) switch.
