Default Convert instrument tracks (Mono <-> Stereo)

Is there a way to:

- convert an instrument track from stereo to mono / mono to stereo?

I created five stereo instrument tracks using Xpand!2 and now i´d rather have them in mono.

I´d like to avoid creating several new tracks and insert and choose plugins and sounds from scratch. … :)

Hmm, first idea would be to save each VI setting as a preset, create a new MONO Instrument track, copy the midi to the new track, insert the same VI(if its available as a MONO version) and recall the saved preset. Method 2; Commit the track(which will create a stereo AUDIO track), split that to mono and delete what you don't need.

Having said all that, you could simply set both PAN controls to the middle(Alt-click on each knob) and it will play in mono, right up the middle. With instrument tracks, I don't think there is any serious power savings with mono vs stereo

Hey Dave. … Great ideas. And you were right about the cpu usage. So i just panned some of the drum tracks from stereo to mono. … For the piano i had to create a new track, open a new Xpand!2 and select the sound. But … i learned and the mix won. Thank you! :)
